Terms of service

Effective October 24, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and AppleSeedIQ (“we”, “us”), which operates CareerStudioIQ, the CareerStudioIQ Capture browser extension and the programs console (together, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use the service for an organization, such as a workforce program, school or employer, you agree for that organization and confirm you have authority to do so.

1. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract where you live.
  • Give accurate account information and keep it current. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password, backup codes and capture tokens secure. We recommend turning on two-step verification.
  • Tell us right away at security@careerstudioiq.com if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
  • One person per account. Don’t share or sell access to your account.

2. What the service does, and doesn’t do

CareerStudioIQ helps you organize your work history, prepare applications, practice interviews and weigh offers. It is a preparation tool. We don’t act as your employment agency, recruiter, lawyer, financial adviser or career counselor, and we don’t guarantee interviews, offers, pay or employment. We don’t estimate your chance of being hired.

  • AI output. Fit briefs, résumé versions, letters, practice feedback, negotiation scripts and the voice interviewer are generated with AI. The studio checks drafts against your Record and removes claims it can’t support, but AI can still be wrong or incomplete. Review everything before you use or send it. You’re responsible for what you submit to employers.
  • Pay and market figures come from public sources such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. They’re context, not a promise of what any employer will pay.
  • Expert sessions included with some purchases are delivered by independent practitioners we vet. Their advice is their own.

3. Your content

  • You own what you put into the service: your Record, uploads, notes, answers and the documents you create (“your content”).
  • You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit and display your content only to run, secure and support the service for you, including sending it to our service providers as described in the privacy policy and sharing it with programs when you choose. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept as the privacy policy describes.
  • We don’t use your content to train AI models, and we don’t sell it.
  • You confirm you have the right to provide your content, including any information about other people (such as contacts and references) and job postings you capture.
  • Keep your Record truthful. The studio can check that drafts match your Record; it can’t check that your Record matches your history.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service to deceive employers, including fabricating credentials, employers, dates or results, or impersonating someone else;
  • use practice tools to receive live help during a real interview or assessment where that isn’t allowed;
  • upload content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing or that you don’t have the right to share, or that contains malware;
  • probe, scan or test the service’s security, bypass plan limits, rate limits or access controls, or interfere with other users, except through our responsible disclosure process on the Trust page;
  • scrape, copy or resell the service or its content, or use it to build a competing product;
  • reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
  • use the browser extension to collect information from sites in ways those sites prohibit;
  • send bulk, automated or unsolicited messages through a connected mailbox, Slack or Teams; sending is for individual messages you write or review, and daily limits apply;
  • use the service in violation of law, including employment, privacy and anti-discrimination law.

5. Plans, payments and renewals

  • Prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout, in U.S. dollars, plus any applicable tax. Payments are processed by Stripe under its terms.
  • Subscriptions. Pro renews every month and Career Vault renews every year, at the then-current price, until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Settings → Plan and billing, which opens our billing portal (run by Stripe); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. We’ll give you notice before a price change applies to your renewal.
  • One-time purchases. Field packs, the field pack with expert session, extra field packs, Interview Sprint, mock packs and Offer Desk are one-time purchases. Each lasts for the period shown at checkout (for example, 90 days for a field pack, 14 days for a Sprint and 60 days for Offer Desk) and doesn’t renew. Unused time, minutes, rehearsals and credits expire at the end of that period, except mock pack credits, which don’t expire while your account is open.
  • Usage allowances. Plans include allowances such as voice practice minutes, AI requests and fit briefs. Allowances reset as shown in the studio and don’t carry over. Voice minutes are counted by our server from when your call connects until it ends. Each session has a time limit, and minutes are set aside for it when it starts; if we can’t confirm when a call ended, the full time set aside is counted.
  • Refunds. If something you bought doesn’t work as described, email support@careerstudioiq.com within 14 days of purchase and we’ll make it right, including a refund where appropriate. Otherwise, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires. When we fully refund a one-time purchase, the access it granted ends. Refunding a subscription payment doesn’t cancel the subscription by itself; we’ll cancel it with the refund if you ask, or you can cancel it yourself.
  • If a payment fails or is reversed, we may pause or end the paid features it covered.
  • We may change, add or retire features and plans. If we retire something you’ve paid for before its period ends, we’ll give you a comparable replacement or a prorated refund.

6. Programs

  • If you join a program through an invitation, the program sees your name and email and only what you choose to share (everything starts switched off), and you can change that or leave at any time. The program’s use of what you share is governed by its own policies and its agreement with you, not by us.
  • If you run a program (as an administrator or coach), you agree to use participants’ shared information only to support them in that program, to respect their sharing choices, to keep your staff accounts secure, and to comply with the laws that apply to you. Program staff views are logged and visible to participants, including when shared information appears in staff lists. Organizations may sign a separate program agreement with us; if they do, it controls where it conflicts with these terms.
  • Employer introductions happen only when the participant approves them. Programs and employers are responsible for their own hiring decisions.

7. Our property

The service, including its software, design, text, question sets and trademarks, belongs to AppleSeedIQ and its licensors. Subject to these terms, we give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.

8. Third-party services

The service relies on third parties such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Vercel, Stripe, Resend, Google, Microsoft, Slack, Google sign-in and our hosting providers, and links to job sites and employer pages. We aren’t responsible for third-party sites or services we don’t control, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

9. Suspension and termination

  • You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Data. Deleting your account cancels active subscriptions.
  • We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms, creates risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or has been inactive with no paid plan for more than two years. Where reasonable, we’ll give notice and a chance to export your content first.
  • Sections 3 (license limits), 7, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 survive termination.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and accuracy, and we don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that AI output will be correct. Some places don’t allow these disclaimers, so they may not all apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, AppleSeedIQ and its officers, employees and suppliers won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, wages, job opportunities, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the service, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for all claims related to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or US$100. These limits don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited under applicable law.

12. Indemnity

If you use the service for an organization, or you breach these terms or the law, you’ll defend and hold AppleSeedIQ harmless from third-party claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from that use or breach, including claims about content you provided. This doesn’t apply to the extent a claim is caused by us.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at legal@careerstudioiq.com and try to resolve it informally for 30 days. Any claim that isn’t resolved will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. If you’re a consumer in a country that gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, nothing here takes that right away.

14. General

  • We may update these terms. If a change is material, we’ll tell you by email or in the service at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change; if you don’t, you can cancel and delete your account.
  • These terms, the privacy policy and any program agreement are the entire agreement about the service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision isn’t a waiver.
  • You can’t transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • We may send notices to the email on your account. You can reach us at legal@careerstudioiq.com.
